Every year, the latest trends in television are revealed during CES, which takes place in early January. CES is the technology fair where companies show what they are working on. Here, the latest developments for televisions, among other things, are revealed by major companies such as Samsung and LG. These are the television trends of 2019.

LG OLED TVs

LG will launch a completely new line of OLED televisions in mid-2019. 5 new models will be released: the LG B9 series, the LG C9 series, the LG E9 series, the LG W9 series and the LG Z9 series. QLED technology from Samsung

In 2019, the technology behind two best-selling Samsung television models will change. Both the 'The Frame' and 'The Serif' Samsung television models will be equipped with quantum dot technology. This will make colours even more realistic, black even blacker and you will experience a higher contrast. In short, an even better viewing experience with Samsung televisions in 2019!

Artwork television by Samsung

Samsung already had televisions in 2018 that could show art when the TV was off. This way, you no longer look at a black screen, but the television blends in with the interior. This technology is called 'Ambient Mode'.

In 2019, Samsung's 'The Frame' television models will have an even wider range of artworks. This television model will also support Samsung's voice assistant Bixby. In 2018, this television model was exclusively available in home furnishing stores. LG NanoCell TVs

In 2019, LG launches the new premium LCD TVs of the SM9X and SM8X series. These televisions are launched under a new name: NanoCell TV to emphasize the new technology for the image.

The NanoCell TVs feature better images, bright colors in a wider viewing angle and have a thin bezel and a slim design. In addition, they provide an even better viewing experience thanks to the deep learning algorithm that optimizes image and sound.

HDMI 2.1 is also being added to some NanoCell TVs from LG. This means even smoother motion with 120 frames per second. Ideal for watching sports matches, action movies or playing games.

LG Rollable TVs

During the CES of 2018 LG already announced the rollable television, now at the CES 2019 LG has introduced the very first rollable television: the LG OELD65R9 . The rollable television is expected to be available for sale from this year, 2019!

It is a 65 inch OLED television whose screen can be rolled up in 3 different positions. If you do not need the television, or if you want to have it completely out of sight, for example when you only want to listen to music, then you simply roll up the screen. 8K TVs

The 4K TV is now the new standard in television land, where this was still Full HD a few years ago. In 2019, the focus will shift to 8K TVs. It is expected that more and more content will become available for 8K televisions in 2019. Both Samsung and LG will show new 8K models in the 2019 line-up.

HDR10+ content

HDR10+ content can currently be shown on Samsung, Philips and Panasonic televisions. However, this content was missing until now. HDR10+ content is expected to be produced in 2019.
