Would you also like to come home to a cool house after a hot day? The warm weather can be nice, but after a while cooling down is also nice. An air conditioner is ideal for making warm rooms in your house a pleasant temperature. But how do you know what to look for when buying an air conditioner? We have compiled 5 tips for you when buying a (mobile) air conditioner.

1. Look at the surface area of the room.

When buying an air conditioner, you should look at the size of the room and the capacity of the air conditioner. The surface area of the room is a major factor in choosing your air conditioner. The larger the surface area, the more BTU (British Thermal Unit) your air conditioner needs to cool the entire room. The cooling capacity of the air conditioner is shown in BTU.

2. Take into account the heat load of a room.

The insulation of your home, the number of windows and the location of the room also affect the cooling performance of the air conditioner. You should also look at the heat load: is it high or low? With low heat loads, the room does not heat up quickly and with high heat loads, the room heats up faster. Does the room where you want to place your air conditioner have a high heat load? Then you need an air conditioner with more BTU than if you have a room with a low heat load . {{media%20url="450_x_450.png"}} ' alt="" data-mce-fragment="1" data-mce-src=' {{media url="450_x_450.png"}} '>

3. Choose an air conditioner with a HEPA filter.

Some air conditioners have a HEPA filter. HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air. This filter is in an air purifier that absorbs the air and passes it through multiple filters (including the HEPA filter) and releases the clean air into the room. The HEPA filter removes up to 99.9% of dust particles larger than 0.3 μm. This is a great help for people with asthma, respiratory problems or allergies.

Although the HEPA filter does not absorb unpleasant odors, it does help capture even the smallest particles of the contaminants that release the odors.

4. Note the difference in sound level.

You have air conditioners with different noise levels. This ranges from 46 to 70 dB, of which 46 - 60 dB is a normal noise level and 61 - 70 dB a high noise level. Pay attention to this if you have a preference for noise level.

5. Choose an air conditioner with a heating function.

Some air conditioners also have a heating function, which allows you to not only cool your room, but also heat it. The air conditioner heats the room by extracting heat from the outside or inside air. This is ideal for cold days and also cheaper than gas during most of the heating season, because the heating effect of the air conditioner rises well above 400% while a central heating boiler does not go beyond 96%.
