Sony is the first to present a QD OLED TV
Sony has announced the line-up of the latest models this week, where innovative techniques have been presented. Sony is the very first manufacturer to present a QD-OLED television, and that's not all! Sony is also launching the Bravia XR TV line-up with models that feature the XR Triluminos Max technology for OLED. In short, Sony stands out from the competition. Processor & QD-OLEDWe start with the Sony processor that controls the XR Backlight Master Drive of the mini LED models: the Cognitive Processor XR . This processor ensures high brightness, deep black levels and accurate color reproduction. Adjusting the image based on the lighting conditions in the room is examined. All models from the X80K onwards will be able to adjust the maximum brightness. The X90K models will also be able to adjust this and the Z9K, A95K and X95K series will even adjust the color temperature based on the light in the environment. The Cognitive Processor XR also controls the new A95K OLED televisions with XR Triluminos Max, or QD-OLED. This is a combination of Quantum dots backlighting and OLED in one screen. Sony is therefore the first brand to bring this combination to the market. This should ensure a wider color range and more accurate colors.
MiniLEDSony's LCD models have also been upgraded. Sony is now introducing miniLED TVs . This technology was used by many other manufacturers. It involves a Full Array Local Dimming backlight that uses very small LEDs with the advantage that they produce a smaller beam of light, which also offers higher peak brightness.
SeriesThe A95K series is equipped with a Quantum OLED panel . Just like the A90J from 2021, the processor in the A95K series accurately measures the heating of different zones of the screen. This model gets the One Slate design that we know from Sony's first OLED, the A1. In this series, the foot points backwards and is in fact invisible at the front. You can also mount the foot forward if you want to place the television close to the wall.
The Z9K series and the X95K series are equipped with MiniLED. Important here is the XR Backlight Master Drive technology that ensures a high maximum brightness and even better contrast. Sony introduces these Mini LEDs in two models: the Z9K and X95K. And not to forget the X90K series that ensures the best Full Array LED televisions.
Bravia CamIn addition, Sony is releasing the Bravia Cam , a Full HD webcam for the Z9K and A95K series. The camera can be used optionally and sees where the viewers are sitting. The camera adjusts the audio and image playback accordingly so that everyone experiences their favorite film or series the best. Operation can also take place via gestures, video chats and games. The Bravia Cam is included with the Z9K and A95K series and is optionally available on all models from the X80K.
Sony's latest televisions feature Google TV and support Apple AirPlay. For the gamers among us: the televisions get the ' Perfect for PlayStation 5' label . The console recognizes which television is connected and automatically adjusts the re-settings to the maximum brightness of the television. How ideal is that?
