Samsung introduces Neo QLED
Samsung has unveiled its first Neo QLED TVs during the virtual CES 2021 trade show. The televisions feature quantum dot technology and mini LED backlight. The Neo QLED TVs come with a 4K or 8K resolution. The QN900A and QN800A models feature an 8K resolution. The QN95A, QN90A and QN85A series consist of 4K models.
The backlight consists of thousands of mini LEDs, which ensures higher brightness, better contrast, better local dimming and significantly less blooming compared to regular LCD TVs. The Samsung Neo QLED TVs are controlled by the intelligent Neo Quantum Processor. This processor uses 16 different neural networks, each trained in deep learning and AI upscaling.
Object Tracking Sound gets a Pro version this year. With this pro version, the sound follows the action on the screen with extra speakers at the top of the TV. This function is only available on the more expensive QLED models. SpaceFit Sound can be found on all models. This function ensures that the sound reproduction is adjusted to the acoustics of the room.
Not only is Samsung making progress in the field of technology, there are also new developments in the field of sustainability for 2021. For example, the new Samsung One Remote works on solar energy to reduce battery waste. The remote control has therefore been given a different name: SolarCell Remote. The packaging of the new Samsung products is becoming a lot smaller and also functions as a construction kit. For example, you can make a rocking horse out of it.
