At CES 2022, Samsung announced part of the 2022 line up. Everyone was eagerly awaiting the presentation of the new QD-OLED , but unfortunately this had to fail to happen. Although they did not officially present these new models during CES, we already know what this new technology entails and what Samsung will add to it to take OLED panels to an even higher level. QD-OLED is the combination of blue OLEDs and quantum dots, green and red, which ensures that the panels have an even greater color range and more brightness. Given that this technology is also used by competitors, Samsung will call this technology a Samsung OLED . Samsung is not leaving it at this new technology. The new QD-OLED TVs will have an anti-reflection layer that, as the name suggests, should minimize reflection. The Samsung OLED series S95B will consist of two types: QE55S95B and QE65S95B.

Neo QLED

This year, Samsung is introducing an improved version of the Neo QLED introduced last year. This year, the miniLED backlight can be controlled with 14 bits compared to last year's 12 bits. This means even more control over the light output and more color nuances. Based on the AI ​​analysis of the image, the light beam of the LED can be adjusted. In bright objects, the light beam will be narrower than in dark objects. This technology is called Shape Adaptive Light and should mainly prevent blooming, the white haze around objects. The Neo Quantum processor controls the new AI Object Depth Enhancer . This adjusts the sharpness of the image to where the human would also focus. It distinguishes the foreground from the background and creates a more realistic image.

Comfort Mode & Calibration

In addition, Samsung introduces the Intelligent Comfort Mode . It has been known for years that cool (blue) light is not good for the eyes and for sleep. The mode adjusts the brightness and warmth of the colors based on the time. Furthermore, calibration is available from the Q60B . This way you can calibrate the television yourself, so that it is optimally set.

Sound

The top model, the QN900B , gets extra speakers that are directed upwards, allowing the 90 Watt 6.2. 4-channel audio system to come into its own. In addition to the Object Tracking Sound (OTS) , it is expanded with Human Tracking Sound . The smart processor recognizes the location of the people / characters and tries to place the sound as specifically as possible in the image. This function will be available from the Q70B . Furthermore, all Neo QLED TVs will support Dolby Atmos .

Lifestyle

The three Lifestyle series (The Frame, The Serif and The Sero) will get a new anti-reflection screen and a matte display film. This ensures less reflection and less visible fingerprints. In addition, these three series will also have the Intelligent Comfort Mode. Samsung's full line-up is not yet known, but when it appears, the model numbers with the corresponding characteristics will be announced.
