Philips 2021 LED TVs unveiled
Philips, or actually TP Vision, has introduced two high-end devices with miniled. Both models have a backlight with 1024 dimmable zones. In addition, they both offer support for HDMI 2.1. The difference between these two models is that one model has an integrated soundbar and the other does not.
The Philips 9636 series has an integrated soundbar in the base. This soundbar was developed together with Bowers & Wilkins. The soundbar is referred to as a 3.1.2 system with two upward-facing speakers. Together with Dolby Atmos, this ensures an immersive listening experience. The screen has a peak brightness of 2000 nits, which makes HDR really come into its own. On the Philips 9636 you will also find four-sided Ambilight and Android 10 TV. The support for HDMI 2.1 is good news for gamers. This allows you to use 4K120, VRR ALLM and FreeSync Premium Pro. This model is available in 65 and 75 inches.
The other high-end model with miniled is the Philips 9506. This device also has 1024 dimmable zones and is available as 65 or 75 inches. This model does not have a soundbar in the base. Another difference is the peak brightness, which is a maximum of 1500 nits. For the rest, the Philips miniled TVs are the same in terms of specifications.
The regular LED TVs from Philips do not have miniled backlight. The Philips 9206 will be available in 55 and 65 inches. On this television you will find four-sided Ambilight and HDMI 2.1 with support for 4K120, VRR ALLM and FreeSync Premium Pro. The Philips 8506 series is also equipped with HDMI 2.1. Ambilight has been downgraded on this device, it is three-sided.
