LG QNED miniLED and NanoCell line-up announced
A while ago LG announced its QNED miniled TVs, during CES the line-up of these models and the NanoCell series was announced. We already know the NanoCell models from previous years, the QNED is new this year. This type of TV combines NanoCell with miniled. Miniled consists of thousands of small leds and allows for many more dimmable zones than Full Array Local Dimming. This results in a much better contrast, higher brightness and less blooming. The QNED miniled TVs are available in 4K and 8K. The 86-inch model has 30,000 minileds and 2500 dimming zones. The color reproduction is much more precise than with previous LCD TVs.
The QNED95 and QNED99 series show images in 8K and are equipped with the Alpha Gen 4 Processor. This processor improves image and sound using AI. For example, AI Picture Pro recognizes people and objects, allowing them to be separated from each other to create more depth in the image. The processor ensures that the volume remains the same when switching between apps and sources. The QNED90 series has 4K resolution and has the less powerful Alpha 7 Gen 4 Processor. All QNED mini LED TVs have HDMI 2.1 connections, 4K120, eARC and ALLM. Unfortunately, VRR can only be found on the QNED90 series. For gamers, this series is therefore the better choice.
The NanoCell TVs consist of the NANO85, NANO90, NANO95 and NANO99 series. These devices only have the NanoCell technology and not mini LED. Images are shown in 4K. At the heart of the NANO95 and NANO99 series you will find the intelligent Alpha Gen 4 Processor. The NANO85 and NANO90 series offer support for VRR. This constantly adjusts the refresh rate to the frame rate of your PC or console. This means you will no longer suffer from stuttering images while gaming.
