Philips launches two new OLED televisions and LCD LED models
Many new TVs are equipped with the new P5 processor
In addition to Samsung , LG , and Sony , Philips has also announced what we can expect this year. A large part of the new Philips models contain the new P5 processor. This processor has Ambient Intelligence . This analyzes the ambient light and can adjust the brightness, gamma, and colors. You can also select various settings such as Eye Care, Dark Detail Optimization, or Color Temperature Optimization. The processor also includes an improved AI Auto Film Mode : watch films as they were intended, where faces and other objects are detected.
Philips OLED TVsPhilips has unveiled two new 4K OLED series: the OLED807 and the OLED707. The 120Hz OLED807 will feature the latest OLED EX panel , or Evolution and eXperience, in addition to the 6th generation P5 processor. This new technology is said to use heavier deuterium instead of hydrogen in the OLED materials, which is said to have a longer lifespan and make for a more efficient panel. The new OLED EX panels are said to be up to 30% brighter than standard OLED panels.
The Philips OLED TVs are said to come with multi-HDR support in the form of Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR10 and HDR10+ and HDR10+ Adaptive. The TVs will feature the Android TV 11 smart TV platform. This includes Google Assistant and built-in Chromecast. Android TV offers access to various streaming services such as Disney+, HBO Max and Netflix.
The TVs will be equipped with two HDMI 2.1 ports suitable for gaming with game consoles such as Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. There is a new ' Gamebar ' that gives you quick access to gaming-related settings. Other HDMI 2.1 features include ALLM and eARC. Both OLED models are equipped with WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5. The OLED807 comes with four-sided Ambilight.
Philips miniLED LCD TVs
In addition to the new OLED models, Philips introduces the new LCD TVs: the PML9507 series. This series is equipped with mini LED backlighting . This mini LED technology is an improved version of the LCD LED technology. Behind the LCD panel are several thousand micro LEDs that are smaller and closer together. This way, the television has hundreds of discrete dimming zones. This allows you to get closer to OLED-like black levels without sacrificing brightness. You also minimize certain gray tones and faded shadow details that conventional LCD TVs with LED backlighting can suffer from.
This television with a refresh rate of 4K, 120 hertz and 4-sided Ambilight ensures an even better viewing experience. With HDMI 2.1 support, this television is very suitable for gaming. Philips MiniLED 9507 with 4K resolution is available in 55, 65 and 75 inch sizes. The functions of this model are otherwise identical to the OLED807 series. This TV should be a good balance between OLED and LED.
Philips The OnePhilips has also unveiled an improved version of The One that is aimed at the non-techy buyers among us: PUS8807. This television offers an affordable price for both video entertainment and gaming. The improved version of Philips "The One" comes with HDMI 2.1 ports with features such as VRR, a 120Hz LCD panel, the P5 video processor and DTS Play-Fi wireless audio technology. DTS Play-Fi is a platform that allows you to wirelessly stream audio from your mobile device to all audio systems and speakers that support the standard. The LCD panel in this television still supports the Philips P5 image processor. The improvements in this television are mainly aimed at the gamers among us with, among other things, the HDMI 2.1 with eARC support.
The Philips 8807 series can use AMD's Freesync Premium technology with smooth frame synchronization. The TV is compatible with HLG, Dolby Vision and HDR10+, as well as support for Dolby Atmos output. The TVs are available in 43-, 50-, 55-, 65-, and 75-inch sizes. It will also be the first Philips TV in 86 inches. This is Philips' largest screen to date.
