Samsung has made great strides for the new 2020 collection, mainly with the 8K televisions. Although Samsung has largely outsourced the best and latest specs to the 8K models, there is also a range of new 4K televisions. QLED 4K series

There are five new 4K QLED series: Q60T, Q70T, Q80T, Q90T and Q95T. The available inch sizes vary between 43 and 85 inches. The Q60T and Q70T are still equipped with the Edge Lit LED backlight. However, these series do have the new Dual LED. This type of backlight combines yellow and blue LEDs, allowing for higher contrast, higher brightness and deeper black colours. The other three series, Q70, Q80 and Q90T, come with Full Array Local Dimming (FALD). FALD makes it possible to dim or illuminate zones separately, which improves the contrast. However, the number of dimming zones has been reduced compared to 2019. Samsung is clearly focusing on 8K televisions in 2020, which means that the QLED 4K televisions lack a number of new specs.

QLED 8K series

Samsung's new 8K series, Q800T, Q900TS and Q950TS are available in different sizes from 65 to 98 (!) inches. All televisions in these series are equipped with the Quantum Processor 8K. This smart processor ensures that all content can be played in 8K. The Q900T and Q950T have a so-called 'Infinity Screen'. Only the bottom has a visible black border. The frame on the other sides is so thin that you can hardly see it. This makes the TV blend in completely with any interior.

Samsung Q950TS Series

The Q950TS series is the standout of Samsung QLEDs 2020. This QLED television has a so-called 'Infinity Screen'. Only at the bottom of the screen is there a black border. The other sides have no visible frame. This ensures that 99% of the device consists of screen. Partly because of this, the Q950TS blends in well with any room. Despite the fact that the device is 15mm deep, it still has six built-in speakers. Of course, this top model has all the new features such as FALD and Q-Symphony. Samsung Q900TS Series

The Q900TS series is just a step below the Q950TS series. The Q900TS also has a so-called 'Infinity Screen', where only a black border is visible at the bottom of the screen. The borders on the other sides are virtually invisible. This makes the TV almost completely blend in with its surroundings. The big difference with the 2020 Q950 is that the panel of the Q900TS is slightly thicker due to the physical connections at the back. Furthermore, this QLED television has the latest features, such as FALD and Q-Symphony. The series consists of the QE65Q900TS and QE75Q900TS .

Samsung Q800T Series

The models in this series are equipped with HDMI 2.1 ports and FALD. Full Array Local Dimming ensures that the TV can control each zone separately. This means that one zone can be dimmed and the other zone can be set to full brightness. This form of backlighting is also called 'local dimming'. In addition, the TVs have Q-Symphony. With this new function, the TV creates optimal audio reproduction together with a Q-Symphony supported soundbar. This is the only new QLED 8K model from Samsung with a fully visible frame. This series consists of the QE55Q800T , QE65Q800T , QE75Q800T , QE82Q800T , QE85Q800T and QE98Q800T .

Samsung Q95T Series
