An energy label shows you how economical the appliance is when it comes to energy consumption. Do you want to buy a new appliance? You can use the energy labels to see which appliance is economical and which one best suits your needs.

Energy labels exist in the letters A to G, from green to red. The labels provide you with information about the energy consumption of, among other things, refrigerators and freezers , washing machines , televisions and dishwashers . Not only is the energy consumption shown on the label, you can also see what the power consumption is, the water consumption, the size of the appliance and how many decibels the appliance produces. This way you can compare all models even better with each other and make a better choice when purchasing the right appliance.

Legislation
An energy label is a mandatory information label of the European Union. The legislation of the European Union states which information must be shown on an energy label. In order to show the correct information, the manufacturer must perform certain standard measurements. The manufacturer also puts the information on the energy label. As a webshop, we stick these labels on the boxes and in our webshop they are always added to the products.
The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) checks that everything is correct. They perform checks to see if the label is displayed correctly and if the values are correct.

Not everything has a label
Not all electrical appliances have an energy label. For example, hobs do not. This does not mean that the appliances are not energy-efficient. The European Union currently sets strict requirements for energy efficiency. It is always advisable to look at the consumption when purchasing a product.

New energy labels
Since March 1, 2021, devices have a new energy label. Devices are becoming increasingly more efficient, which is why plus signs are increasingly appearing behind the A. Many devices had an energy class of A+++. With the new label, there would be more room for growth. Manufacturers can show that their devices can become even more efficient. In addition to other classes, there is now also a QR code on the label. You can scan this with your phone to get more information.
